thousands of 'Ang Bao'

hello everyone!
Chinese New Year is coming next week & it's our traditions to give 'ang bao' ( red packets ) to children.
to celebrate the day, my husband & I decided to make some simple red packets.

Few weeks ago, I just purchased an envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers.. it was well used to help us scoring all the papers...
It definitely makes our works easier..

We decorated the red packets using some stamps from Hero Arts, the bamboo tree as the background & Chinese New Year theme stamps that I found during my trip last year.

and... we are ready to celebrate the New Year... LOL

thank you for visiting

...hugs...

Operation Safe & Sound

We have a special post today.  Our dear friend Christy's home was broken into and a lot of their things were either destroyed or taken. Some things held such sentimental value that nothing will replace it.   What makes our community so remarkable is that we are there for each other even though we can't physically be near our friends. These "people" violated her home, the place where we are supposed to feel the most safe, where we raise our children and where we sleep in peace. I can not even imagine what she is going thru or the loss she has endured.  Dealing with the police and insurance company has been and continues to be exhausting and frustrating for Christy and herfamily. She has been updating her facebook page with some details.

Some of Christy's friends have come together to help. We are of course making cards for her because that's what we do, right? But ultimately, the expense of trying to get her family back on their feet will be somewhat of a strain. Imagine having to replace household items, necessities in our world all while trying to rebuild a sense of security that we all most times take for granted.

So, we're asking for your help. We've tried to make it convenient for you to help Christy and her family. There's a PayPal button on each of our blogs. We are asking that if its your hearts desire, that you donate whatever you can to help Christy and her family regain a sense of safety and security.  NOTHING is too small. Every little bit will make all the difference. Our goal is to raise $1,000 to help cover the costs of food, lodging and replacing at least some of the items taken.

Thank you for even reading this post in its entirety.

If you're interested in seeing all of the cards, a full list of girls who are participating in the card drive  is available at the Lawnscaping Challenge blog & A Blog Named Hero

Sending my hugs and love to you Christy

Good day everyone...
it's a bright saturday morning here
and here I am uploading my scrapbook layout using Melissa Frances papers and embellishments

adding some texture on the layout by stamping a newspaper background from Hero Arts stamp, masking some flower from Prima Marketing and spotted some Glimmer Mists
using Spellbinder dies to make the framed pictured and embossed it with Zing
added some butterflies from Studio Calico which is one of my favorite items
flowers, swirl from Prima Marketing
Martha Steward heart punch
Sizzix dies for the banners
sentiments from Ali Edwards stamp sets

It's an end of year school holiday here...
few days ago my daughter's friends came to our house
they were wandering the house looking for some activities to do and by looking at me doing some layouts...they decided to make some cards
My daughter chose to make a card using Melania Deasy - Deasy Studio digital stamp, Canine Friends set
She colored the images using Distress Inks,
used Spellbinder dies for the layered patterned papers

...she loves the results...
and her next card will be using Little Rossie... hopefully she can make it (...LOL...) remembering that she has a lot of plans for her holiday: cross stitching, srapbooking, travelling to Lombok, watching movies...

ok...that's all from me today
have a nie week end everyone
